About the Gurney-Weslake Eagle #36
The Gurney-Weslake Eagle is one of the most significant American Formula One cars ever built. Developed by Dan Gurney’s All American Racers team, the car was designed by Len Terry and powered by the Weslake V12 engine.
With its low-slung bodywork, exposed suspension, distinctive nose, and elegant proportions, the Eagle is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful Grand Prix cars of its era. More importantly, it proved that an American constructor could compete and win at the highest level of international motorsport.
The Eagle’s greatest achievement came at the 1967 Belgian Grand Prix, where Dan Gurney drove the car to victory at Spa-Francorchamps. That win remains a landmark moment for American Formula One history.
