Introduced for the 1961 Formula One season, the Ferrari 156 was Ferrari's answer to Formula One's new 1.5-liter regulations. Its revolutionary design, lightweight chassis, and powerful V6 engine dominated the championship season.

Driven by Phil Hill, the Ferrari 156 secured both the 1961 Formula One Drivers' Championship and Constructors' Championship. Hill became the first, and still only, American-born Formula One World Champion, forever cementing both driver and car in motorsports history.

Today, the Ferrari 156 "Sharknose" is considered one of the most important and recognizable Grand Prix cars ever built.
